  • Deep into the rabbithole | Robby Sintern / Art

"Deep into the rabbit hole " at the great Swabian 2023 A very personal work. At first I just wanted to hide a door leaf with the paper. But little by little something emerged. This painting corresponds to the trials and effects of the past year, in which all certainties seemed to dissolve into nothing and since then a latent danger has felt emanating from all sides. I also experimented with material here. The Good Shepherd 2020 120 x 100 cm / oil on canvas Also inspired by a picture from a newspaper showing a Romanian shepherd at the beginning of the 20th century, I created a work that touches me deeply. The elegant hand position from Leonardo Da Vinci's 'Lady with an Ermine', a masterpiece that I deeply admire, also served as inspiration. Until the last version of the picture, various animals cavorted around on the shepherd's lap; in the end, the baboon with the piercing gaze made it...
